The Gambling Commission has today published its Industry Statistics annual report for the financial year April 2025 to March 2026.

The statistics show the customer-facing gambling industry in Great Britain generated a total Gross Gambling Yield (GGY) of £17.5 billion, a 4.4 percent increase on the previous financial year (April 2024 to March 2025).

Alongside the annual report, the Commission is also publishing quarterly industry statistics for Quarter 4 (January to March 2026) and the latest wave of data from the Gambling Survey for Great Britain (GSGB).

Key facts from annual industry statistics:

  • total GGY (including all reported lotteries): £17.5 billion, 4.4 percent increase on April 2024 to March 2025)
  • total GGY (excluding all reported lotteries): £13.2 billion, 4.7 percent increase
  • total licensed gambling premises in Great Britain: 8,081, 2.0 percent decrease

  • Remote Casino, Betting and Bingo (RCBB) sector GGY: £8.3 billion, 6.9 percent increase

Ben Haden, Director of Research and Policy, Gambling Commission, said: “The market shifts that we see in industry data trends, and this year is no different, are complex and will be down to a mix of factors that need more than one source to unpick.

"I welcome our capacity to publish industry data alongside the Gambling Survey for Great Britain to encourage and assist in the consideration of key questions from these different perspectives.”
